22MW Solar Farm — Complex Terrain Design

Bahamas
22MW
33kV Connection

Full electrical and civil design for a 22MW solar farm on challenging hillside terrain, including 33kV substation, switchroom, and control room design.

The Challenge

The site's hilly topography introduced significant health and safety challenges throughout the design process. Standard approaches to cable routing, civil works, and equipment placement had to be fundamentally reconsidered to ensure safe constructability on steep gradients in the Bahamian environment.

Our Approach

Ecovoltec adopted a proactive risk-identification approach from project inception — embedding potential hazards and their resolutions directly into the design documentation. Regular communication with the client and site team ensured that emerging terrain-related issues were addressed in the design before they reached the construction phase.

The Outcome

The project achieved full planning and design approval with a construction-ready package that incorporated all terrain-specific health and safety requirements. The client cited Ecovoltec's proactiveness and communication as key factors in the project's smooth progression.
